Ballpark Factor

A multiplier that quantifies how much a specific stadium inflates or deflates run scoring compared to league average.

Like adjusting marathon times for course elevation -- a flat course time does not equal a mountain course time.

Why it matters

Ballpark factors can swing expected stats by 10-15%. Coors Field inflates everything; Oracle Park suppresses scoring.

How DMP uses this

DMP adjusts projections for ballpark effects when computing expected stat lines and P-over probabilities.

Common mistake

Ignoring park factors for player props -- a hitter's 3.5 total bases line is much easier to clear at Coors than Oracle.
