Consensus Line

The most commonly offered line across all sportsbooks for a given market. It represents the market's central estimate for a player stat or game outcome.

Like the average price for a used car on multiple listing sites — it's a useful benchmark but individual deals can still be above or below it.

Why it matters

The consensus line is your baseline for comparison. Knowing it lets you quickly spot when a specific book is offering a better number.

How DMP uses this

DMP computes the consensus line and consensus odds across all tracked books, then devigorishes to find the fair probability at that number.

Common mistake

Assuming the consensus line is the "right" number — it's the market's best guess, but individual books can still be off from fair value.
