K Rate
Strikeout Rate -- the percentage of plate appearances that end in a strikeout, measured for both hitters and pitchers.
Like a basketball player who takes lots of three-pointers -- more upside, but more games with nothing.
Why it matters
Strikeout rate is the most stable and predictive batting outcome. High-K hitters are more volatile for props.
How DMP uses this
DMP uses K rate to assess projection variance -- high-K hitters have wider outcome distributions.
Common mistake
Ignoring K rate for prop bets -- a hitter with 35% K rate has far more zero-stat-line risk than one at 15%.
