Live Betting

Wagering on a game while it is in progress, with odds updating in real time based on the score, time remaining, and game flow. Also called in-game or in-play betting.

Like buying stocks during trading hours instead of placing limit orders — prices move fast and emotions run high.

Why it matters

Live markets move fast and can misprice situations, creating short windows of value. But the speed also makes discipline harder.

How DMP uses this

DMP's game flow and pace data can inform live betting decisions by showing how a game's tempo compares to projections.

Common mistake

Chasing losses by live-betting impulsively after a bad first quarter — live betting requires even more discipline than pre-game.
