Off the Board

When a sportsbook removes a betting market entirely, usually due to breaking injury news, weather concerns, or suspicious betting activity. Abbreviated OTB.

Like a store pulling a product off shelves: there's usually a safety or quality reason you should care about.

Why it matters

A market going off the board signals that significant new information has entered. It's a red flag to pause and reassess before betting elsewhere.

How DMP uses this

DMP's odds polling detects when markets disappear across books, which can indicate breaking news before it hits mainstream sources.

Common mistake

Rushing to bet the same market at another book when one takes it off the board — the reason it was removed likely applies everywhere.
