Pace

The estimated number of possessions a team uses per 48 minutes. Higher pace means more possessions, more shots, and generally inflated counting stats for all players.

Like comparing two restaurants' revenue without accounting for one being open 14 hours and the other 8 — more time (possessions) means more output.

Why it matters

A fast-paced game (105+ possessions) creates more stat opportunities than a slow grind (95 possessions), directly affecting prop totals across the board.

How DMP uses this

DMP applies a pace factor to every projection — if a matchup's expected pace is above or below league average, stat projections are scaled accordingly.

Common mistake

Ignoring pace when comparing players on different teams — a role player on a 105-pace team may put up similar raw numbers to a better player on a 95-pace team.
