Per-100 Possessions

A rate stat normalized to 100 team possessions, removing the effect of pace. It shows how productive a player is independent of game speed.

Like comparing two factories' output per shift rather than per day when they run different numbers of shifts.

Why it matters

It's the truest comparison tool across teams and eras — per-100 stats isolate individual production from team tempo.

How DMP uses this

DMP stores per-100 possession stats in the archetype system to classify players by their true production rates, independent of team pace.

Common mistake

Comparing raw counting stats between a player on a fast team and one on a slow team — per-100 removes the pace variable entirely.
