Platoon Split
The difference in a batter's performance against left-handed vs. right-handed pitching, or a pitcher's results against lefty vs. righty batters.
Like a tennis player who dominates on clay but struggles on grass -- same player, very different results.
Why it matters
Platoon splits can create 50+ point OPS differences. Knowing the matchup handedness is critical for daily props.
How DMP uses this
DMP incorporates platoon data when projecting hitter performance based on the starting pitcher's handedness.
Common mistake
Ignoring platoon splits for player props -- a lefty-killer facing a left-handed starter has a massive edge on his over.
