Prop Bet

A wager on a specific player or game occurrence rather than the final outcome. Examples include player points, rebounds, assists, strikeouts, or receiving yards.

Like shopping at a specialty store vs. a big-box retailer: the niche market has more pricing inefficiencies.

Why it matters

Props are the most inefficient betting market because books have less data and resources to sharpen these lines compared to sides and totals.

How DMP uses this

DMP's entire platform is built around player props. We compute projections, P(over), and EV specifically for prop markets.

Common mistake

Treating all prop markets as equally soft — some stats like points are much sharper than niche props like steals or blocks.
