Red Zone Usage

A player's share of team targets, carries, or touches when the offense is inside the opponent's 20-yard line. Red zone opportunities are the most valuable for touchdown props.

Like comparing salespeople by who closes deals (red zone) versus who generates leads (yardage) — different roles produce different outcomes.

Why it matters

Red zone usage is the primary driver of touchdown probability — a player who gets 30% of red zone targets has far more TD upside than one who dominates between the 20s.

How DMP uses this

DMP incorporates red zone usage rates to sharpen touchdown prop projections, separating yardage producers from touchdown-dependent players.

Common mistake

Assuming a player with lots of yards will score touchdowns — yardage production and red zone usage are often driven by different players.
