Redistribution

The reallocation of a missing player's statistical production to remaining teammates. When a starter is out, their points, rebounds, and assists don't disappear — they're absorbed by others.

Like a restaurant redistributing a sick chef's orders — the sous chef picks up most of the work, not the dishwasher.

Why it matters

It's one of the biggest edges in prop betting — knowing WHO absorbs production when a key player sits can reveal mispriced props before the market adjusts.

How DMP uses this

DMP uses archetype-based redistribution rules with impact tiers (A/B/C/D multipliers) to automatically boost teammate projections when injuries are confirmed.

Common mistake

Assuming production redistributes evenly — in reality, specific players (usually the next-highest usage teammate) absorb a disproportionate share.
