Rest Days

The number of days between a player's current and previous game. One day of rest (back-to-back) versus two or more days can meaningfully affect performance.

Like the difference between running a race after a good night's sleep versus after pulling an all-nighter — you're the same person but performing at a different level.

Why it matters

Rest impacts energy, minutes, and overall production — well-rested players tend to perform closer to their ceiling, while fatigued players trend toward their floor.

How DMP uses this

DMP applies a rest factor to projections, boosting stats for well-rested players and slightly discounting projections for those on short rest.

Common mistake

Ignoring rest entirely in prop analysis — the difference between 0 and 2 rest days can be worth 1-3 points in production for older or high-minute players.
