Run Line
The MLB equivalent of a point spread, almost always set at -1.5 for the favorite and +1.5 for the underdog. A -1.5 run line means the team must win by 2 or more runs.
Like handicapping a race where the favorite has to win by more than a car length — the payout improves but so does the difficulty.
Why it matters
Run lines offer better payouts than moneylines for favorites and are a core market in baseball betting.
How DMP uses this
DMP's main lines data includes run lines, helping you compare the moneyline vs. run line price to find the better value.
Common mistake
Assuming the run line is always -1.5 — some books offer alt run lines at -2.5, -3.5, etc., with different odds.
