Yards Per Route Run (YPRR)
The total receiving yards divided by the number of routes a receiver runs, regardless of whether they were targeted. It measures a receiver's efficiency per opportunity to be targeted.
Like measuring a store's sales per square foot rather than per transaction — it accounts for the full footprint of opportunity.
Why it matters
YPRR is the best efficiency metric for receivers because it accounts for every snap they're running a route — not just the snaps they're targeted.
How DMP uses this
DMP uses YPRR-style efficiency metrics to distinguish between high-volume, moderate-efficiency receivers and low-volume, high-efficiency receivers when setting prop projections.
Common mistake
Evaluating receivers only by yards per catch or yards per target — these miss all the routes where the receiver wasn't targeted but was still creating value or decoy attention.
