Technical signals tell you what the MARKET thinks. Fundamental signals tell you WHY a bet might have value.

What Are Fundamental Signals?

These are the underlying factors that affect whether a player will hit their prop:

Matchup Signals

• Does the player have a favorable defensive matchup?
• Is the opposing team weak against this position?
• Historical performance vs this opponent
• Scheme advantages or disadvantages

Injury & Role Signals

• Who's out on the team? How does that redistribute opportunity?
• Who's out on the opponent? How does that change matchup?
• Recent role changes (starter vs bench, minutes trending)
• Usage rate changes

Context Signals

• Game environment (pace, total, spread)
• Rest advantage or disadvantage
• Home/away performance
• Motivation factors (playoff implications, revenge games)

Fundamental vs Technical

The best bets have BOTH:

• Strong fundamental reason to bet
• Technical signals confirming (or not contradicting)

Real Example

Player X points over 22.5

Fundamental signals:

• ✅ Opponent allows 4th most points to his position
• ✅ Teammate (primary scorer) is out - role expands
• ✅ Game total is high (fast pace expected)
• ✅ Player averages 24 at home this season

You have a REASON to believe he'll score more than usual.

When Fundamentals Conflict

Sometimes signals disagree:

• Great matchup BUT teammate returning (role shrinks)
• Good context BUT poor recent form
• Strong history BUT revenge game motivation for opponent
