Closing Line Value (CLV)

The difference between the odds you bet and the final closing odds. If you bet at 2.50 and it closes at 2.20, you have positive CLV—you got a better price than the market.

Like buying a stock at $50 that's trading at $55 by market close. Even before selling, you made a good buy.

Why it matters

Bettors who consistently beat the closing line are profitable long-term. CLV predicts success better than win rate.

How DMP uses this

We track your CLV on every bet to show if you're getting good prices.

Common mistake

Thinking winning is all that matters. CLV predicts future success better than win rate.
