What Is Implied Probability?
When you see odds like -150, the sportsbook is saying:
"We think this has about a 60% chance of happening."
That 60% is the implied probability - the odds converted to a percentage.
The Simple Formula
For minus odds (favorites):
Odds ÷ (Odds + 100) = Probability
Example: -150
150 ÷ (150 + 100) = 150 ÷ 250 = 60%
For plus odds (underdogs):
100 ÷ (Odds + 100) = Probability
Example: +200
100 ÷ (200 + 100) = 100 ÷ 300 = 33%
